The chili and chips appetizer was the one dish that stood out. Also, the ship has a Margaritaville which is near the pool/slide area. And, for those who truly like to wing it, the ship has prominent screens posted on Deck 8 (where most of the restaurants were located) that posted current availability for various restaurants. I’ve rounded up seven of my favorites, which I’ll share in the first part of this guide. I have been cruising since 2004 and have sailed on dozens of cruises all over the world. NCL is a cruise line that is very family-friendly, and while Norwegian Escape isn’t different, it does excel from a couples perspective too. The highlights of the ship are often the adult-only areas, including the Vibe Beach Club, Spice H2O sun deck and the beautiful Mandara Spa.

Passengers and crew members on Carnival Cruise Line ships come ready to meet new friends or share a laugh, a story and a drink with their shipmates. Social kids will fit right in and love the line's huge, new ship Carnival Celebration. They can make friends at the Family Harbor Lounge, Camp Ocean and Dr. Seuss Bookville; older kids will enjoy the teen and tween clubs conveniently located near Guy Fieri's burger stand and the video arcade. The Norwegian Dawn, with its classic design and modern amenities, promises a cruise experience that’s both nostalgic and contemporary.

Other kids might spend their parents' money on more virtual fun, indulging in F1 race car simulators, VR motorcycle racing, a 4D movie theater and a video arcade. Family groups can split into teams for sports court competitions or participate in organized games that rely on the latest technology to challenge guests of all ages. Inside the ship, Firefly Park will have drop-off kid programming and family play spaces for kids 6 months to 7 years old. Tweens and teens will each have their own hangouts, Neon Grove and The Underground, with cozy lounge furniture and plenty of video and other games. Traverse the world on the Norwegian Encore, traveling from Alaska to Seattle or from the Caribbean to Miami. One of the newest ships in the NCL fleet, Norwegian Prima is the first in the Prima Class and it feels like a lot of lessons have been learned from the Breakaway and Breakaway Plus classes. Norwegian Breakaway launched the Breakaway Class for NCL and was considered to be a huge success, so it’s a surprise for it to be ranked so low down. The waterslides are incredible, although I couldn’t try all of them due to being pregnant at the time.
The Norwegian Joy, Norwegian Encore and the Norwegian Prima (coming soon) have a race track onboard the ship. Races last for approximately 8 minutes and the cars can go up to 30 MPH. Each Go-Kart race costs $15 per person or $200 for unlimited races throughout the cruise. When it comes to dining, the Norwegian Epic has plenty of choices. Whether you want to eat the complimentary food or try some specialty dining restaurants, there is something for everyone.
This Norwegian ship offers a ropes course, mini-golf, and a range of family-friendly entertainment options, including Broadway-style shows. There are also various kid's clubs and activities that are perfect for playtime. Although Princess Cruises might not be the most well-known for its family-friendly offerings, its ships include expansive programs, facilities and accommodations making them great cruises for kids and adults.
Departing from Florida, the Bahamas, and Bermuda, set sail for a world of adventure aboard the MSG Meraviglia. This ship sails to New England and Canada and delights the entire voyage. Some rooms even connect so your kids can feel independent while you keep a watchful eye over them. Activities like story time, theater, art, and science will enchant the young’uns, who you will definitely want to bring, as kids sail free. Norwegian Cruise Lines visit Asia, New England, Florida, Alaska, the Bahamas, Canada, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, Europe, and Hawaii.
